The Youth Services
Department at the St. Clair County Chapter of the American Red Cross allows
youth and teens to get involved in various clubs:
Administration
-
Responsible for the daily
office operations, interviews, record keeping, data management, and general
administrative duties
Teen Clubs
-
Middle
and High School Students
-
Red Cross
Clubs for students to take on Red Cross projects in their individual schools
-
Officers
and plans are selected in the schools
-
Middle
School programs may include pre-teens
Junior Red Cross
-
Elementary School Students
-
Learn
about the Red Cross in their schools or at the Chapter House
-
Lead by
youth and adults working together
Youth Support
-
The
Chapter supports many youth and youth related programs such as Boy Scouts, Girl
Scouts, March of Dimes, Woodlands Developmental Center, St. Clair County
Community Foundation Youth Advisory Committee, and others.

Work
closely with other organizations on youth programs and mutual project
development
Student Interns
Chapter House Teens
-
Teens
work at the Chapter House on special projects, community events, teach health
and safety programs, and serve on the Board of Directors
Blood Information and Sponsors
-
Work with
various High Schools in the County to encourage young people to give blood and
support the blood program
-
Focus is
on education and community needs
-
Works in
cooperation with the South Eastern Michigan Blood Region
-
Will also
work with Elementary and Middle Schools
Fundraising
-
Work with
area schools on fundraising with the local Red Cross
-
This
program will follow our basic policy of fund raising for projects (not to cover
program expenses)

Focus on
teaching the art of philanthropy
Youth Health and Safety

Focus on
all Health and Safety programs we can provide to youth

Includes
Babysitting, First Aid and CPR classes

Emphasis
on the training of adults to teach our programs (Authorized Providers)
Leadership Development

Teach
leadership development

Have
various retreats and seminars on leadership hosted by community leaders

Will
allow us to reach youth in new and exciting ways
Campus Club

Attract
and recruit young adults from college to volunteer at the Chapter House

Volunteer
